WIN WAGERING

Play to win. Unless the odds go below even-money, top choices should be bet to win. Do not bet top picks at 2-1 or higher to place or to show. The higher the odds on a handicapper's top choice, even more the importance of betting to win.

Bets to place and to show must be shared with other horses that finish in the money and these are normally the favorites or low-priced contenders. Payoffs to place and show will be underlays, and unfair, most of the time. No chance for profits long term.

A sucker bet at the track is a nicely priced horse across the board or to place & show. If horses are 8-1, 10-1, and such, bet to win only. Do not split the bets to win, place, and show.
