QUINELLAS

Quinellas require the bettors to select the finish one-two in either order.

Quinellas cost half the exacta and should pay half the exacta.

When the quinella pays less than half the exacta it's a poor bet. When the quinella pays more than half the exacta, it's a good bet.

Use Two Quinella Strategtes

1.An overbet favorite is combined with an overlay or longshot (8-1 or greater).
The quinella almost always pays more than half the exacta and at times pays as much as 75-80% of the exacta at half the cost, making the qulnella the much better bet.

2.Pairs of longshots.
These combinations are notoriously overbet in the exacta pool but frequently underbet in the quinella pool.

The Exacta/Quinella Double
The following advice can be accepted as gospel.

Whenever handicappers want to combine a favorite and a longshot or a low-priced horse and a high-priced horse in an exotic bet, they should play (a) the longshot on top of the favorite in the exacta and (b) both horses in the quinella.

Handicappers have a chance to cash all the bets as overlays. These situations arise every racing day. It's important to combine low-priced and high-priced horses intelligently.
